importance of art

I personally think that tax dollars should definitely be used on the arts in public high schools. I do agree that school should prepare you to enter the work force but artists are part of the working class. most artists struggle to be completely reliant on just their art for finical support. I think it also creates a bit of a break for the average student from the core classes. Students should be able to choose what they do with their choose-able classes. If a student chooses to take more core classes or take athletic classes a student should be able to take art classes if they so choose.

If students aren't able to take art classes how are students that aren't interested in core classes or athletics supposed to express themselves. Sure they can go home and do it but schools can provide much better resources and can also provide motivation for students.
